// RED RETAIL
RED Retail is a local, industry-led research project funded by the East Midlands Development
Agency, committed to offering a free consultation service to small and medium sized retailer
and design groups in the East Midlands.
For small-to-medium-sized retailers, RED Retail advises on practical and achievable
energy-efficient interventions which will help improve the environmental impact of your retail
space. The levels of recommended interventions could vary as follows:
// MAINTENANCE – For example, switching to energy-saving light bulbs etc. This
    would involve minimal cost and input from the retailer.
// TRANSITIONAL– Strategies for long term energy and cost saving opportunities
    that require more intervention from the retailer.
// ADOPTION – Opportunities for redesign of the retail environment to incorporate
    environmentally preferable materials and technologies in order to maximise the
    premises customer impact whilst minimising its environmental footprint.

In addition, RED Retail is working with a number of shop-fitters and design consultancies toadvise on energy-efficiency strategies and to provide information on materials which incur a smaller carbon footprint. These resources will be applied to design projects such as point-sale-stands, retail interiors and lighting schemes.
